My approach is down-to-earth and very practical. Counseling should feel safe. I believe it is important to feel comfortable and secure with a therapist. It is my responsibility to provide that environment for my clients. I have a passion for people and a desire to meet them where they are. I have a Master’s of Science in Counseling and am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California.
I consider it an honor to work with individuals, couples and families in the midst of some their greatest struggles. I am a work in progress too. I am always learning from my clients.
Counseling can provide you and your family with insight to move through difficulties more productively. Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety or just need someone to support you through a difficult season in life, as your therapist, I can help you find a path to healing and growth.
I have provided mental health services to at-risk teens and counseling to families in need within various healthcare systems. My work with teen clients is very dear to me. I enjoy getting to know and understand what motivates them for success. Watching those in the teen years meet personal goals is very rewarding for me. Through family therapy, I can facilitate bridging the relational gap between teens and parents.
Navigating through feelings during divorce and separation can be overwhelmingly painful and disorienting; feelings may feel unmanageable and out of control. During such critical transitions, it's not uncommon to experience heightened feelings of anxiety and depression. As your therapist, the goal is to provide a supportive space where you can work through these emotions, helping you to move forward empowered and with renewed self-esteem.
Divorce often prompts a deep reflection on personal roles and relationships. In our counseling sessions, we'll explore these aspects, helping you to identify and minimize defensive behaviors that might be holding you back. Together, we can work towards integrating these insights into your life to build a an independent identity and path of profound personal growth.
I created and managed a community bereavement program for children, teens and families. Losing a loved one impacts everyone differently. I work with parents to address the topics of death, grief and loss in a manner that is developmentally appropriate for their children. Bereavement is a journey that benefits with patience and support. Counseling can provide that.
In addition to my private practice, I have provided crisis mental health counseling to individuals of all ages in the greater Sacramento area. When families are faced with crisis with a loved one, it can be overwhelming and difficult to navigate. I help those working towards stability while helping family understand what is supportive and helpful.
